Youtube vs. Vimeo

Actualmente existen muchos servicios en línea para compartir video, sin embargo pocos son los realmente competitivos que logran cumplir el objetivo de cualquier usuario que desea compartir un video, el que el mundo entero lo pueda ver con la mejor calidad posible en cualquier sistema existente.
En esta ocasión me dispuse a probar los dos sitios líderes en esta tarea y luego de varias pruebas llegué a la conclusión de que YouTube es superior a cualquier otro y por mucho, así que si quieres ahorrarte leer todo esto usa YouTube, sin embargo si tus necesidades van más allá de 10 minutos de video y de 2GB de tamaño en upload, te recomiendo sumergirte en las aguas del video en línea y pruebes codificar tus videos y compartirlos con algún plugin de video, actualmente desarrollé un plugin y player para WordPress http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/stream-video-player/ sin embargo este post no es SPAM ni trata de esto, si no de YouTube Vs. Vimeo, veamos los hechos a continuación.
Material: Para las pruebas utilicé un video en HD 720p el cual fue grabado en un parque y centro recreativo de Guatemala, Xetulul, este video en especial es del tipo de videos más complicados de comprimir, esto se debe a que contiene muchísima información de video ya que no es lo mismo comprimir un video con un locutor en un fondo plano dando las noticias que comprimir un video de un viaje en tren, esto se debe a la cantidad de cambios que existen en el video, la compresión suele descartar información de video repetida y en el caso del video de un locutor solo guarda los movimientos que este haga más no el fondo, sin embargo en el caso del video de un viaje en tren cada cuadro de video es totalmente diferente del otro haciendo que sea más complicado comprimirlo.
Factores: En la tarea de compartir un video en línea existen varios factores a tomar en cuenta, es por ello que generé este gráfico el cual muestra ciertas características de cada sitio:

Hey mate, I’m not quit understand any words in your entry but I am being here to say thank you very much for your “Stream Video Player” Plugin. I totally love it but it would be better if it is allowed to set to play the playlist (like in wordTube – but I don’t like wordTube’s look and feel so I choose yours) or even possible to embed the video ad before or after our main video.
BTW, I have one question with the plugin. I converted my video with your suggested program to convert mp4 to flv in mac but the random access still doesn’t work. Please let me know if you can help me this.
Lastly, I’m waiting for the next release…I do believe that it is a very nice plugin and I will donate it whenever the next version out.

I’m working hard on the next version, this version will support a lot of new formats and plugins, also subtitles and an embed code generator so everyone can share your video, if you want.

Answering your question about the random acces, you need to inject your videos with metadata in order to do the pseudo streaming technique, you can use FlvMeta or Yamdi for this task, commands:
flvmeta input.flv output.flv
yamdi -i input.flv -o output.flv -l

By saying that it is going to support the plugin, do you mean all of those longtail nice plugins? It would be a really nice competitor with wordTube if you can allow your Stream Video Player to be able to work with Longtail Plugin.
Speak frankly, I totally love your player but just that it is too lack of the support plugin so I believe that this is the reason why some other people goes for wordTube. If you can allow it to support the Longtail plugin, it will be the king of flash player in both designing and functionality.
