Apple Log 2 to Rec.709 Conversion LUT

As is now Apple tradition, they’ve released iPhones that can record in Apple Log 2, yet they still don’t provide an official, easy-to-download LUT for converting to Rec.709. While a few opportunists sell over-priced LUTs, I decided to fix that.

I built two free, high-precision conversion LUTs that take Apple Log 2 straight to Rec.709:

If you shoot ProRes RAW on non-Apple recorders (e.g., Atomos Ninja) and switch the “RAW → Log” setting to Apple Log 2, I’ve got you covered too:

Download them, drop them in your LUT folder, and grade away. If these save you time (or money), feel free to buy me a coffee: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/RodrigoPolo

  1. Thank you so much for making these, everywhere I looked I could only find paid LUTs or an apple page that requires login, while I am just a low-income editor who was handed some iphone footage.

  2. Thanks a lot for LUT, i record with my iPhone in “Blackmagic Cam” color space “Apple Log 2 – HDR” and edit video in Davinci Resolve for export (SDR) REC709 Youtube.

Update: Thanks to a comment from @ichsan2895 I […]
